Why Foxwood Online Marketing?

Foxwood Online Marketing Value ModelTools

We have a comprehensive suite of tools.  These include some which most webmasters would have but also include some which have been custom developed for our networks.  Tools such as keyword search, analytics, eMail marketing applications, Customer Relationship Management, and a suite of integrated tools designed to run concurrent web searches for individuals and companies, integrate and sort the results, and export them to either a spreadsheet or my CRM application.  These tools were either selected, specified, or created by the experts in our networks to aid in the process of online marketing.

Experience

Michael KeefI remember the first time I took a serious look at the internet.  At the time I was Director of a team called Electronic Business Solutions which focused on customer Electronic Data Interchange or EDI.  Since my firm was a major supplier to the phone companies globally, we used EDI which is a computer to computer commerce solution that eliminates rekeying data.  However while 80% of our business came from this 20% of customers we struggled with the 80% of customers who while making up only 20% of our business was costing us significantly more to process because they were  smaller and did not have the infrastructure to implement and manage EDI.  We conducted a brainstorming session in Dallas in 1995  where among the attendees was a PhD Physicist whom we captured as a result of the elimination of the Superconducting Super Collider project.  His recommendation was to use the internet as the standards based conduit and develop or buy some  middleware which could used as the interface to our order management system eliminating the need to reenter the data from these small customers who simply would go to a website and enter their orders into a forms screen.  Not only did that become our solution but it triggered an interest in the internet as a business solution that has remained strong in me to this day.  I parlayed this success into a position where I was 1 of 8 who set the web strategy for what was then a $20B company.  During that stint we had to make a strategic decision to choose between developing a sophisticated search engine versus personalization.  My argument for search was overruled and we went with a personalization package.  To me that decision made no sense as we had hundreds of thousands of web pages.   I escaped at the beginning of the dot.com bust but have been looking for a vehicle to get back and happy to be able to launch my business in this arena that continues to change our lives.  And rather than delivering a search vehicle for users within a site, I am now in a position to help small to medium businesses get more visibility than their competitors through a set of tools and processes that includes optimizing their site for search.

Foxwood Online Marketing is my 4th entrepreneurial venture.  My last was as an owner of a rustic furniture store.  One of the most frustrating elements of marketing my business was the inability to take advantage of my website and to conduct email marketing.  I created many marketing programs and collateral campaigns but the cost to distribute and the lack of ability to target advertising reduced their effectiveness.  I can’t tell you how many customers came into the store who said how they wished they knew about us before they made a significant purchase, often over the internet.  My wife and I developed the web site but had no clue about search engine optimization or pay per click advertising.  We were not aware that we could get analytics (metrics) on our site.  We had purchased a rather large customer list but it had no email addresses.  Our business failed in part because we were not aware of this capability.  I wished just one of the multitudes of sales people who came through the door or contacted us offered the same kind of services I can now offer you.  I could have spent a fraction of the tens of thousands of dollars I spent on TV advertising and would have, I’m certain, achieved much more success.  Online marketing is extremely measurable and successful as compared to advertising.

Because of the 2 experiences discussed above, my 20+ years in marketing technology solutions, my MBA, and my keen interest in human behavior as a result of an undergraduate minor and hours toward an MA in Psychology as well as reading books such as The Owner’s Manual for the Brain and recently How We Decide are a good basis for this business.  Add to that the network I have available to me and I am encouraged that I have the skill set to deliver results for my customers.
